Dunrobin Castle is the most northerly of Scotland's great houses, the largest in the Northern Highlands with 189 rooms, and oldest of Britain's continuously inhabited houses dating back to the early 1300s.

Dunvegan Castle is a mile and a half to the North of Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye. It is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland. Originally designed to keep people out, it was first opened to visitors in 1933. Since then, the castle is consistently ranked as one of Scotland's premier visitor attractions. Dunvegan Castle has been the location for Film productions that range from the 1986 cult classic Highlander to the more recent Made of Honour starring Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan.
